R&M: Moldova
does not have a big tradition on professional cycling. Why, and how, did you
decide to become a cyclist?
My
father was a URSS Champion, so i followed his paths …
R&M: You
won the Tour of Flanders Under-23 in 2007. Was it your nicest day as a rider? How
do you remember that moment?
It was great but I believe that best moments
are still to come , some trees grows up much longer time then others ..
R&M: Which
is your favorite cycling monument? (Flanders, Roubaix, Amstel…)

debut as a professional rider with AG2R team?
Was
ok.just ok not more. I become a pro with broken collarbone , car accident and
sick... From the first year pro all went wrong..
R&M: In
2010, you participated in the Tour of France. If we are not wrong, you were the
first Moldovan rider in history that finished the French race. Would you like
to run again the Tour of France in the future? Would you prefer to try Giro and
Vuelta?
I
loved it. It was something special to finish it off.. But I'd love to do Vuelta
as well..
R&M: You have known
important teams and riders in your career. Who has been the most impressive
teammate you ever had?
Joachim
Rodrigues ,Paco Mancebo. Great riders Great persons!
R&M: How
are you feeling in the Skydive Dubai team? Is it so different for you to be in
an Asian team after your European experience?
Yes,
it's different . It's better. I feel free. I feel stronger. If I'd race the
same races as last year I'd have bigger results.
R&M: How
is your relationship with the Spanish members of the team, Francisco Mancebo
and Oscar Pujol?
They're
the best teammates!
R&M: A
few days ago, you won the Melaka Chief Minister's Cup. How is this Malaysian
race?
I saw it only from the front, as i was in the
break for 200km, and Paco was covering me.
R&M: How did you feel
winning a race again after your difficult 2013 season?
Every
win is a win. You can feel only happiness and satisfaction..
